Your brain will beg for a guarantee before it lets you move, but that’s not how goals get built. We’re talking about done energy: the grounded certainty that what you want is available, and the decision to show up like it’s already yours. Not as fake hype. Not as “good vibes only.” As aligned action that makes your life match your beliefs.

We unpack why affirmations can fall flat when they aren’t supported by behavior, and how authentic confidence is created through embodiment, self-awareness, and practical steps you can actually take. You’ll hear the question that cuts through the noise fast: what are your actions affirming? Because your calendar, your routines, and what you keep avoiding are always telling the truth about what you think is possible for you.

We also pull a lesson from the Red Sea story that lands whether you’re spiritual, religious, or not: sometimes “be still” is regulation, and sometimes the only answer is move. From applying for the job to posting the offer to investing in support, done energy looks like motion with faith, even when the steps appear one at a time.

If you want deeper support, I share how to join my group coaching program The Art of Magnetism starting May 19, focused on confidence, identity work, mindset, neuroscience, and embodiment so you can co-create the life, love, and legacy you want. (Visit NandiCamille.com to learn more)

I am your host, life coach, Nandi Camille. Welcome back, my friends. I'm actually having a lot of fun listening to old episodes of my own podcast, which I when I first started my podcast, I would have never done. Absolutely would have never listened to an old podcast. What I would do is I would record it, I would edit it, edit it, meaning like I would listen to the beginning and the end because I do this in one take. I sit down, I record one take, and then that's it. And so I would uh edit the beginning with intro, edit the end with the intro, and then send it off. And I truly never listened to my podcast episodes, in part because I felt really strongly about them. I felt like I was putting out really good content, content that I felt really good about, didn't feel like I needed to go back and review it. I spend a lot of time doing research and preparing for my podcast episodes because I read a lot of books, I listen to a lot of authors, other coaches, and then I spend time in my own brain. Now that I've learned these things out in the world, how is it working in my life? What am I applying? What's working? What are my clients applying what's working? Right. And so in the past, that's the way I did it. Didn't listen to an episode, sent it out, kept it moving. And every single week we'll come out with the new one. But now this is season eight. And so there's a lot of concepts that I've talked about. And what I'm enjoying with season eight now is going back and listening to some of those older episodes. And I'm not gonna lie, I'm gonna humble brag right now. As I mentioned in the episode that I just said, they're good. I've put out some good episodes. I'm very, very proud of some of the episodes we put out. In part, one of the ones that I listened to recently was Co-Creation and Done Energy. It's actually called Co-Creation and Certainty. I did it December 21st, 2020. And then in parentheses, it's called Done Energy because recently, as I'm always thinking about you, all my clients, what's gonna serve you? Done energy has been coming up. And I thought to myself, you know, I know I've done this before because done energy I feel is like one of the baseline pillars, one of like the most important things when it comes to creating anything is believing that it's done, right? Not that it actually is, and this is where it gets a little meta in the brain, but to actually think the thought that the partner that I seek is seeking me, and I don't have to worry about finding my husband. It is done. Like my husband exists. I just get to exist as my best self, and I'm gonna run into him, right? That's the energy we're talking about, is this done energy. So, in that last episode, which I highly recommend going back and listening to, again, December 21st, 2020. It's called Certainty and Co-Creation. In parentheses, it's called Done Energy. What I wanted to do today is take it a little bit further. And I feel like that's gonna be a theme for this season. Is I'm going back and I'm like, okay, what is this episode missing? What more could I add to this? What do I feel are like some more meat and potatoes, some more tools that we can add to this or a reflection, right? And so as I was going back and listening to it, first and foremost, let's say you never listened to that energy or listen to that episode. What comes up for you when you think about done energy? Right? Just think about that. It's very straightforward. Done energy. Done energy is the energy, like I say all of the time, show up as if it's already done. It's the energy that you have certainty. It's the energy that I know that what I want wants me. It's the energy that when you start the business, you know that you will be successful, right? Whatever success means to you. That might be profitable. That might for you successful might be having a bunch of friends. Successful might mean having a home that you own. Success successful might mean traveling abroad, right? Whatever success means to you. Done energy says, I believe that the version of success that I seek is done. It's available to me, that I am in alignment, that I am the person that can create the result that's been placed in my heart, right? That's done energy. Now, where we can get tripped up is just getting lost in the done energy of affirmation, of being like, I am a badass, I am sexy, right? You're saying those things in the mirror, you're saying those things to yourself as you walk around. And that is a huge step, right? To actually genuinely believe that you are confident, that you are well spoken, to affirm for yourself what you want to be true is beautiful. But where this can be a disservice, and where often people find affirmations a disservice, is when we are affirming without action. When we're saying the words, I am sexy, I am confident, my aligned man is looking for me, right? You're saying those things, you're trying to believe those things. It feels good to say them, but then your action doesn't follow, right? You're affirming that you feel sexy and confident, but you don't dress yourself in a way that is sexy and confident. You don't walk around in the world that is actually in a way that makes you feel sexy and confident. You keep throwing on the same t-shirts and jeans that you wear all of the time, but keep affirming I'm sexy in my t-shirt. And you know what? There's versions of us, right, that are absolutely like, yes, I feel my sexiest in my t-shirt. But I'm talking to the woman that knows that in order to truly feel her best, it's gonna require her to drink a little bit more water, moving her body, going to the gym, seeking a therapist or a personal trainer to help her with her mindset or how she's physically moving her body. Those are the practical steps that then go with the affirmation of I am confident, I am sexy. Now you get to decide what your practical steps are. The premise here is done energy is a different energy than I don't know if it's gonna happen energy, or how am I gonna make it happen energy, or when is it going to happen energy? Done energy does not wait, right? It takes the power back. If you believe that what you want is available to you, then you are moving as if it's available to you. I was recently listening to a church episode, I listened to Elevation Church, and the pastor Stephen Furtick, I'm not gonna get too religious, y'all. Hang tight with me, um, talks about how Moses goes to the Red Sea. So, for my non-Christians, I think everybody knows the story, whether you're a Christian or not. For some reason, we all know the story of Moses, how he parts the Red Sea, and the Pharaoh is coming behind him, and we have the, I think it's the Israelites that are going through the Red Sea, right? And so the pastor says this the other day, and it really, really spoke out or stuck out to me. The Israelites are like, oh my gosh, we're gonna die. Moses, and it's not, it's funny now because we are not in that situation. If I was an Israelite, I would also be probably pissed and confused and all the things, right? And so this is where we get to apply this work in our current life. But let's tell a story first. So the Israelites are at the Red Sea, the Red Sea has not parted yet. They're like, Oh my gosh, we're gonna die. Moses, like, no, we're not. Be still and no, which is a valid thing to say. But what the pastor points out that I love so much and I think resonates with so much of the work we do here is he said, Israelites said, Ah, Moses said be still. He said, God said move. God said, Y'all need to move, or the pharaohs are going the pharaoh and his people are gonna kill you. You're gonna die. You need to move. Moses, stick your stick in the ground. Part this resident, you cannot just be still. And so what stuck out to me is that is done energy. And I truly believe that whether you're a Christian, Buddhist, non-religious, atheist, spiritual, we're all saying the same thing. Take what sticks you, leave the rest on this podcast, truly. But I like to believe that we're all saying the same thing. And so when I listened to that the other day, I was like, ah, there's co-creation in action, right? You yes, there are times where we need to be still. There are absolutely times where like maybe we're being frustrated or we're showing up from an anxious place and we're being a little bit crazy, right? Those are times where we need to stop, be still, breathe, reset. But when you know what the goal is and you know what the next action is, that's not the time to be still. That's the time to move. And Dunn Energy says, I have so much faith in what I'm doing. I'm gonna move. The brain is going to say, I don't know if this is gonna work out. What if this doesn't work out? What if I what if I fail? What if nobody shows up to the event? That is your logical brain trying to protect you. That is not a reason not to show up. That is a reason to look at your logical brain and say, you know what? I appreciate you trying to protect me. I'm now gonna tap into done energy. And if I truly believe that it is done, that clients come, that the person I want wants me, that the raise that I want, that the aligned career that I want is mine, then I move. I move, I take action, I apply for the job, I apply for the interview, I ask for the meeting with my boss to get the raise. I show up online and I do the posts. I invest in getting a strategist to help me with my online marketing. I read the articles on how to X, Y, and Z. If you're wanting to travel and backpack around the world, what is the done energy around it? Stop researching it. What is the next step? What are some materials you need to buy for that backpacking trip? Do you need to set a date? Do you need an accountability buddy to help you make sure you go on that backpacking trip so it's not another three years that you're talking about going on this trip you've wanted to go on forever? Done energy says, I'm gonna move because I believe that what I want wants me to. And if I truly believe that what I want wants me to, I have to move. I have to walk with faith. Faith is a heavy word for some people. Take what sticks you leave the rest. For me, faith is such an important word when it comes to done energy. Do you genuinely believe? And the the metaphor that's always serving you when it comes to faith is taking the next step before you see it, right? So imagine a staircase, but you can't see it, right? You can only see the step as you're putting your foot down. So it's scary. Like, oh my gosh, I know that I'm going up, I know that I'm climbing, I know that I'm growing, but I don't know what each of these steps is gonna look like. I don't know if one of them is gonna be rickety, I don't know if I'm gonna slip. Faith says I'm gonna do it anyway, right? That's that phrase, do it scared. And that's where I think that we're truly all saying the same things. When somebody says do it scared, I hear do it with faith, right? To do it scared is to say, you know what, I don't know how this is going to work out exactly, but I believe that I'm stepping in the correct direction, the correct being alignment. What does alignment mean for you? Who is your best self, and how do they operate in the world? That is what that means. So, what are your actions affirming? Check in. If you were to just be a fly on the wall in your own life, remove yourself, and you just like close your eyes and watch yourself for a whole day. What are your actions affirming? Right? When we get up and very simple example, brush our teeth in the morning. That action affirms that we want to have good smelling breath, healthy bones in our face that can process food and maybe clean teeth, right? Maybe we want sparkly teeth, whatever it is for you. But that action, as minute as it is, affirms something for your brain. Every time you brush your teeth, you tell your brain it's important to me to have clean teeth and fresh breath. What are your actions affirming? Every time I go to a pure bar class, every time I go to a bar class, a yoga class, a movement class of some sort, I'm affirming through my action that I care about my body, that I want to take care of my body, that I want my 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90-year-old body to have been cared for in my younger years. I'm doing that now. Through my movement, my movement is affirming that. What is your action affirming? When you get up in the morning and you get on the meeting, or you don't get on the meeting, or you post on social media, or you don't post on social media. Every action is affirming something, right? When you have the whole sales pitch in your brain, the whole sales page, and maybe you did the whole thing or you created the whole reel, and then you don't post it, what are you affirming? You're affirming that you're afraid. You're affirming that you don't know if it's gonna work out. And that's okay. We're not here to bash that. We're here to look at it. What are your actions affirming? Are your actions affirming done energy? Or are your actions affirming uncertainty? Are your actions affirming fear? Are your actions affirming I don't know if this is gonna work out, so I'm not gonna do it anyway? Part of done energy is how you move. What is your current action telling yourself and others about what you care about? This is why I love the values exercise. Whenever I do a values workshop with a group of humans, I have them pick their top five values. If you've been here for a while, you've heard this. But the the idea around why we pick our top five values is because those five things, again, use the fly on the wall metaphor. If you were a fly on the wall, would it be obvious that these five things are of value to you? So if you say adventure, um success, community, faith, and learning are your values, right? If somebody was watching your life from the outside looking in, do your actions affirm your values? Or do they not? And again, if they don't, we get to do a few things. We can check and see if our values have changed, and maybe that's what needs to shift. Or we can check and see, oh, you know what? I keep saying I value learning, but I haven't read a book in months. I haven't listened to a podcast in over a year, I haven't enrolled in a class. I say that I value this, but my actions are not affirming this value. Check in. What are your actions affirming? Here's some questions to check in to kind of help you understand if you are showing up with done energy. What does the version of you who has what you want do? This is also a really great exercise to help you understand how to shift into done energy. So if the goal is I'm in a loving relationship with a partner that loves to just do life with me, whether it's grocery shopping or going on a mountain drive, we're adventurous, we love to do those things. What does the version of you who has what you want do? If you're thinking I'm gonna be going to musical festivals with my friend, with my partner, and my partner and I are gonna go to like cute art classes together, and you're not doing any of that now, just check in. Why wait for the partner to do the things? Right? Why not do it now? The version of you who is has the partner, has the bank account, has the raise, what is the action that they're taking? How do they talk to themselves? How do they organize their day different from how you're showing up now? Right? When I first started my podcast, I had to really decide for myself how I wanted to do my podcast. And so I did research and I looked at other podcasters, and there's ones that are on YouTube, and there's ones that are like me, record at their home, and some that have studios, there's all these different kinds. There's conversational types, and there's um types where people just talk like me on their own. So I do my research, and then I decided, you know, I would like to lowest point of entry, simplest point of entry, I suppose is the better way to say that. I'm gonna record on my own. I'm not gonna record it on camera. I don't want to have to worry about YouTube or anything like that, and I'm gonna put it up. I had so many doubts. The podcasting industry is very saturated. How are you gonna stand out? Who is gonna listen to you? That's the how energy. And there's nothing wrong with how energy because how is your brain going to work? I'm trying to solve this quote problem. Podcasting is very saturated. You are one person, you are not famous, you're not a celebrity, you're not interviewing celebrities. Like, how are you going to how? How? When I shifted to done energy, when I thought about the version of me who already has 10,000 downloads, who has people who listen all around the world, right? I had to show up as if it's already done. It's crazy truly when I go back and I listen six years ago. Whenever the podcast started, I'm like, who is this woman? Who is she? Because I decided, I decided I'm going to be a podcaster that people love, people listen to all over the world. And if I believe that's true, what does my action need to affirm? Then I do a podcast. So I started podcasting. I started recording. I started doing research. I started reading more books. I started writing out how I wanted to do the podcast. That was my done energy. I started to move. Move. Don't be still and no, I'm gonna just be still and you know, I'm just gonna know that it's gonna be a great podcast. And beyond then podcasting, it's telling people about it, telling people I have a podcast, shaking people's hand, or just you know, mentioning it when it made sense to mention it. How are you moving now? And then I want you to think to the version of you who truly has what you want. How are they moving different from how you're moving now? What is one little thing you could do? For me, the one little thing was my energy. Instead of coming in, like, oh, I'm a little baby podcaster and I'm new, and I don't know if anybody's gonna listen, but here we go. Like, I came in like nah 10,000 downloads already when I had zero. Not because I was cocky or pompous or wanted to put that off. Like, that's never the vibe here. I actually really want you to be authentic and grounded in who you are, but I truly believe that's who I am. I'm a podcaster that has thousands of people that listen from around the world. Not because I'm better than anybody, but because I believe in the work that I do and it's good work, and it actually changes people's lives. And that is my truth now. When I first started this podcast, it was not totally the truth. I had no downloads. I didn't know if anybody was gonna listen at all. I barely told my family about it. I like just told the internet. And here we are now. People listen from around the world, but I had to move. I had to, despite my fear, I had to move. The just do it had to move. Done energy. I believe. I'm gonna show up as if it's already done. I believe that it's already done, that I have 10,000 downloads, that I have thousands of people that listen to the podcast, that I am giving good content. So that also meant I had to do the research to give, quote, good content. I had to understand what that meant for me, and I had to move in alignment with that. What do you want? Be so honest. It is safe to own what you want. There's a coach that I follow, and she says, your desires are sacred guidance, and I love it. It's Amanda Francis. That's who it is. She says, Your desires are sacred guidance. Again, take what six you on this podcast, leave the rest. That has stuck to me. I do believe that my desires are sacred guidance. And here's the thing: I know the difference between a temptation and a true desire, right? Temptation is like we always go to food. It's like the extra whatever food when you know your body's already full, right? That's temptation. That's not a desire. I that at least that's how I differentiate it. Your desire, I feel like, is divine. It's that thing that just like lights you up. And the beautiful thing about that is that when we do the thing that lights us up, we light other people up, right? Because we don't all want to do the same thing. We don't always want to all want to be dentists, we don't all want to be reality TV stars, we don't all want to be podcast hosts or moms or teachers or mechanics or speakers. We all want different things. We truly do. And when we own what we want individually, and there's overlap there, which is beautiful. That's how we create connection, right? But when we truly own what we want and go for what we want, as if it's already done, oh, that energy is beautiful. That energy is excited. That energy is what is the word I'm looking for? Contagious, right? And again, my heart is so on fire for my job, which is bringing as many people into alignment as possible. Because the more of us that are aligned, that is loving, excited, expansive, going after what we want, being non-just as non-judgmental as we can be, right? We're not perfect, we're human, but practicing non-judgment, practicing self-awareness. When we can get there and we're in that sweet spot where we believe in ourselves, we believe in our goals, we support our neighbors, we don't feel like our neighbors are taking from us. We're able to focus on the goal ahead and do so with love, with certainty. Oh my gosh, the world literally changes. When more of us are just excited about what we're doing and the lives that we're living, ah, that's what lights me up. And so if you want to be more excited about the life you're living, the work that you're doing out in the world, you know, I love that Maya Angelou quote: success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it. If you want to like yourself, like what you do and like how you do it, first of all, you have this podcast with all of the tools. But if you want deeper support, you know where to find me. One on one coaching is what I love. But we also have the art of magnetism right around the corner, y'all. So on May 19th, that's when we kick off the art of magnetism. It is all about this work, right? When I say the art of magnetism, I it came from a place of like I want them to feel like they're a magnet and that everything that they want is just kind of like. Flying almost out of nowhere and attaching to them because they're just so magnetic. That's the vibe. But it starts with the mindset work and the self-awareness. So we're going to do the mindset work. We're going to do the neuroscience work. We're going to do the body work. We're going to do the embodiment. It is five weeks. It's every other week starting on May 19th. Come and join us. The art of magnetism, it's all about being your most confident self so you can co-create what you want. In order to be your most confident self, though, we're going to do some identity work. We're going to clean up anything that's no longer serving you, any limiting beliefs that you have about yourself. We're doing that work so we can move into authentic confidence. Not fake confidence, not you slapping some things on a mirror. I'm sexy, I'm sexy, saying it to yourself but not believing it. Authentic, grounded, embodied confidence. From that place, there and I want you to go for what you want. I want you to do it from a confident place. Then from that confident place, it truly does start to feel sometimes. And when I'm walking around the world, just like I am a magnet, and everything that I want wants me. The resources, the people, the events, everything that I need to live my absolute best life. I don't have to go searching around for. I just like it stumbles in my lap or I stumble upon it, and I just have the right conversation with the right person at the right time. I want you to have these experiences more often. So that's what the art of magnetism is all about. Send me an email, hello at naundicamille.com. If you have a question about the podcast, about the art of magnetism, about one-on-one coaching, I am here to support you. Coaching is my favorite thing to do. And I have lots more to share with you guys. Life is changing, life is moving. But my number one goal is making sure y'all are in alignment. You are having fun being your most authentic, vibrant, fun self. And hey, here's here's my little disclaimer after all that. It's okay to feel sad too. If you're feeling sad, if you're feeling frustrated, if you're feeling anxious, if you're feeling depressed, if you're feeling any of those emotions, there is nothing wrong with you. I have been there. And I will be there again because I'm a human being. So if that's where you are today, be there. I want you to love yourself where you are. That is the first step. Don't try to push yourself into dynamic. I should feel better about this by now. I need to be moving in a different way. No, none of that is gonna serve you. I want you to love yourself where you are as you are. Give yourself some love. Give yourself a physical hug, write yourself a compliment on a piece of paper, drink some water, take the next best step. And the next best step might just be getting eight hours of sleep tonight. The next best step might be going for a walk. The next best step might be calling your mom, right? What is the next best step for you? If you're not ready to jump into I can do this and everything's working out for me, fair. Fair. I want you to love yourself where you are, how you are. You're doing a great job. You're not behind, and there's nothing wrong with you. As always, my friends, take what sticks of you, leave the rest. I'll see you next week.
